As an extension of my hobby, in 2007 I began placing vintage Ontario license plates in the hands of classic car owners to complete their ride. As the years progressed, demand for pairs increased as more awareness of Ontario’s YOM Program spread. This allowed me to share my enthusiasm about vintage license plates and what better way to do this but make those old plates live on again! When speaking with classic car owners about the program, their biggest hurdle was finding a useable set of plates to register. Too often, owners would come up to me and say they’ve bought at least 5-10 pairs and all have been either rejected by the MTO or not available for use – that’s a lot of wasted time and money.
In response to this, I established a stand-alone business YOMplates.ca so that classic car owners could easily purchase approval guaranteed YOM pairs. Through experience and knowledge of Ontario’s license plate system, I’m able to take the guess work out of finding that right pair. I’ve now placed well over 1,000 YOM pairs in happy customers hands.
